Born in Albany, New York, Kathleen has never
compromised her vision of working in the arts. She
graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Fine Art from
State University of New York, where her studies
included a semester in Italy. This influence is still
evident in her art.
She worked with fine art conservator Paul Lengyel from
1980 until his death in 1994, conserving and restoring
paintings. During this time she also managed a
gallery/frame shop and continued to do free-lance art
and illustration. Her illustrations include drawings
of artifacts published in archeology publications and
anthropology books.
Kathleen has participated in juried art shows in the
Northeast including The Riverfront Art Festival, The
International Gallery, Center Gallery shows,
fund-raising auctions for Whiskers Animal Benevolent
League and the Adirondack Regional Competition which
hung int he Hyde Collection Museum in Glens Falls, New
York.
Since moving to North Beach in 1998, Kathleen
continues working as an artist/illustrator and mixed
media artist combining ink, gouache, gold leaf and
collage. She also designs and creates beaded jewelry
using semiprecious stones, glass, shells, fossils and
sea
glass.
