Eileen Joan Baca Painting & Schrenschnitte
Eileen Baca is a water media artist who lives on Maryland's western shore of the Chesapeake Bay with her husband and cocker spaniel. She is inspired by the beauty of the Bay and the surrounding environment of Southern Maryland.
Her main focus is watercolors (florals, seascapes, landscapes, collages and abstracts) primarily used alone or with acrylics as a mixed media. Eileen strives in her art to capture the spendor of nature, expecially the denizens of the bay.
Her portfolio includes original watercolors, Giclee( gee-clay) and traditional photographic prints and note cards. The Giclee is a high-resolution, digital reproduction of fine art printing on watercolor paper.
Eilieen's papercuttings (schrenschnitte - the original European technique) has been Americanized to depict regional subject (i.e., lighthouses mounted against the watercolor background, and trains and ships mounted on maps). The clean bold lines of her papaer cuttings are visually compelling and unique.
She has displayed and sold her art at Cecil's Old Mill, the J.T. Daughert Conference Center, Annmarie Garden Gallery and ArtsFest, Arts Alive at Solomon's Island Pavilion, and Maryland Antique Center in St. Mary's County, among others. Eileen's art is located at Artworks@7th in North Beach.
As an Air Force wife during the 1980's Eileen traveled extensively in Europe. She has lived in Chesapeake Beach since 1990 and is a retired nurse of 38 years.
