Selena , a native Virginian, now a resident of Huntingtown, Maryland, has enjoyed creating art since childhood. She is primarily self-taught. In the years past, she has taken watercolor classes, etching workshops and other various art instruction.

She enjoys the challenge of various media. Her foremost subject matter has always been animals and nature, with a strong affinity toward horses, but she has no limits. She enjoys representational works; however, she also enjoys the freedom expressed in more contemporary styles and finds these works great for unbridled creativity

She is married and is the owner/operator of Canaan Farms Pet and Farm Care, a local business that provides pet sitting services, dog boarding and riding instruction. She is striving for balance in her life and her neeed to be creative is crucial for a healthy experience.

Selena's reasons for creating are best expressed with this statement: "I create art because it takes me somewhere I enjoy being. It purts me in touch with myself and what I truly love, it is another dimension. Representational work challenges me and contemporary styles set me free."
