Glenna Sheerin
Painter

Growing up in the Chicago area, Glenna spent many hours at the wonderful Art Institute of Chicago and the local galleries. She later graduated from the University of Illinois where she studied art history. After marriage, children, retirement from her career and a move to Chesapeake Beach, Maryland, she decide to return to her passion, this time doing her own art.

After taking classes and workshops, she entered her first art competition and won, "best in show". With this encouragement she has continued to paint and has received many awards. Currently she is a member of the Calvert Artist's Guild, the Artworks@7th Gallery, and has had exhibits at several local venues.

Her interests are primarily in water color and pastel and focuses on the effects of light as it plays out on various shapes and textures. Her subject matter is primarily stll lifes and flowers but more recently she has begun to draw her favorite people using pastel.
