Pat Troiani

Pat Troiani, a former art teacher in Pennsylvania public schools for 15 years retired to the Outer Banks of North Carolina in 1985. She began teaching watercolor painting, composition, and instruction to adults in her home studio and has also continued her career as a profiessional watercolor artist. Schools attended include Traphagen School of Design, New York City, NY; Millersville State University, Lancaster, PA; and earned an MFA from Maryland Institute, College of Art, Baltimore, MD. In 2008 she moved to Solomon's, MD.

Pat's subjects are inspired by the scenery and life on the Outer Banks such as the many lighthouses, historic structures such as the Whale Head Club, the beautiful and abundant wildlife, and colorful flowers with an emphasis on the Bearded Iris. While specializing in traditional watercolor techniques, Pat also uses a technique known as collage in many of ~ I her paintings. Paintings of pets or your home are also available by appointment. Some of her awards include: North Carolina Senior Games, The Frank Stick Show, Outer Banks, NC, Beach Book Cover 2004, Land Mark Shows at the Pasquotank Art Association, Peoples' Choice Award at the Chowan Arts Council, and The Mollie Fearing Show.

Pat's paintings can be seen at: The Art Works in North Beach MD, The Calvart Gallery in Prince Frederick, MD, The Island Gallery At the Christmas Shop Manteo, NC and Gaskin's Gallery in Avon, NC. While many are originals, she offers limited edition Giclee reproductions of her paintings. Prints are also available at Tar Heel Trading Co. in Duck and Corolla NC and Cloud Nine in Nags Head NC.
