Donna Tizol - Painter
Southern Maryland artist, Donna Carley-Tizol, has always enjoyed art. At an early age, Donna was inspired by her Aunt, Jean Frost, while watching her create magic on a canvas. This visual turned into a desire whereas Donna knew that she wanted the freedom to experience this form of expression.
Retiring from Calvert Co. Public Schools in 2014, Donna was finally able to spend creative “me” time doing her own thing. Along with her husband, Joe, and Boxer dog, Loki, she divides her time between homes on the shore of the Chesapeake Bay and the Virginia mountains in Shenandoah Co.
Donna’s artwork is a by-product of her environment. Working in watercolours on Yupo paper, acrylics/mixed media-collage, and recently in scratchboard, her work reflects the subjects she loves – Landscapes featuring barns, birds and beasts of the fields and woodlands. Seascapes with boats, beaches, seabirds, and aquatic life are portrayed.
Donna loves being able to lose herself in total abandon while applying a visual interpretation of her mind’s eye. She hopes to bring a smile to all that view her work.
