Suzanne Nawrot - Jewelry Artist

Suzanne Nawrot is a self-taught jewelry artist who started making jewelry while still working for the Federal Government. Everyone that is a Federal employee has to wear a badge. So for Christmas one year, she made beaded badge lanyards for all the women she worked with. They were so popular, she was soon getting orders from most of the women at the agency! She expanded to creating necklaces, earrings and bracelets and began showing and selling her work at Artworks at 7th in North Beach, MD in 2007.
She enjoys the challenge of working with wire and has transitioned to wire wrapping and weaving. She joined calvART Gallery in Prince Frederick in December 2014. She also creates jewelry utilizing various techniques such as Kumihimo, an ancient form of Japanese braiding, with and without beads; tumbled glass and stones; and alcohol inks. She uses precious metals and copper wire to wrap semi-precious stones and tumbled glass. She has sold her art work through commissions, public and private showings, both domestic and international. She is excited to be returning to ArtWorks@7th to show her art work and is looking forward to working with the other artists.
